It "feels like -5" right now. It's not even fair for a nontemperature to describe the weather. On a brighter note, I thought I would add <a href="http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=uGwH-x4VoH8&feature=related">a link</a> from an artist Shaun and I were listening to this weekend, I like a lot of her songs... it's just the kind of music that invokes the desire to sing along in a show choir-esque fashion with my own "interpretive" dance routines. To survive the elements, I went to the library (and grocery store) and got a few of the biggest books I have ever read or wanted to read (along the lines of <i>Atlas Shrugged</i> and<i> Infinite Jest</i>). The only prospect that keeps me warm is knowing that I will be in Honduras in 2 weeks. Although I am in need of work, I'll be volunteering in a medical clinic not making clothes for P. Diddy's line.Sar Hathawayhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/16131329094496608273noreply@blogger.com2tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3605557930528300891.post-88517928373191952322010-02-09T16:20:00.000-08:002010-02-09T16:52:15.303-08:00Watch This Movie<div>a man with a magnetic personality and an unimaginable dream. </div><div>this is the story of his feat.</div><div>surprising, disturbing, beautiful, amazing, emotionally inciting, wonderful, inspiring.</div><div><br /></div><div><span class="Apple-style-span" style=" white-space: pre; font-family:Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif;font-size:10px;"><object width="560" height="340"><param name="movie" value="http://www.youtube.com/v/EIawNRm9NWM&hl=en_US&fs=1&"><param name="allowFullScreen" value="true"><param name="allowscriptaccess" value="always"><embed src="http://www.youtube.com/v/EIawNRm9NWM&hl=en_US&fs=1&" type="application/x-shockwave-flash" allowscriptaccess="always" allowfullscreen="true" width="560" height="340"></embed></object></span></div><div><br /></div><div>seriously, just do it.</div>lzhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/17002082241359025266noreply@blogger.com1tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3605557930528300891.post-6809270417027097732010-02-01T10:38:00.001-08:002010-02-01T13:58:35.809-08:00What San Francisco's Homeless Community Can Do For You !<div style="text-align: left;"><br /></div><div style="text-align: left;">Running has been a part of my life for as long as I can remember. (Considering that my memory isn't necessarily my cerebral forte, this dates us back to about the middle school era.)</div><div style="text-align: left;"><br /></div><div><div style="text-align: left;">Although, this certainly does not mean that it has always been a source of joy for me.</div><div><div style="text-align: left;"><br /></div><div style="text-align: left;">I can recall countless stubborn shin-splints; many a tear-stained, vomit-inducing 5k finish; being continuously lapped by Ms. (or is it Mrs. now?) "Gazelle" Knuckles on the 7-mile practice loop, and having to keep tread through my shame. This all goes without mentioning the overall sensation - those times when I just plain didn't <i>feel</i> like it - of feeling as if I was running through miles of sand & muck; occasions which often made running seem much more like work than anything worthwhile.</div><div><br /></div><div>But after a stint in wine country characterized by indulgence and featuring minimal physical exertion, it feels great to get my soles back on the pavement every once in a while. Since I've been back in the city, I've taken the casual morning jog through our neighborhood a few times per week. Sometimes I have the company of my trusty & willing housemate & companion, Chewie, although at present she is out of commission on account of a recent encounter with the vet/knife/gonads. So, she hasn't been there to cheer (drag) me on over the hills (brutal).</div><img style="display:block; margin:0px auto 10px; text-align:center;cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;width: 200px; height: 134px;" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhVhBzRYBIQxy-7c8L8mNcGgMfiuLhcKK1ODrf7jmmNBBMOMgHonRW1COnfvPtR3-zFBcD9Ruj9E8t-JKUwO7XJhFMwFfCrfiYCLImdosIWUQaYABBwvBhKxLdjS7smPsE987mI0rlYbzE/s200/IMG_1183.JPG" border="0" alt="" id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5433368620103454818" /><span class="Apple-tab-span" style="white-space:pre"><div style="text-align: center;"><span class="Apple-style-span" style="white-space: normal; "><span class="Apple-style-span" style="font-size:x-small;">"Get well soon" Chewie.</span></span></div></span><div style="text-align: left;"><br /></div><div style="text-align: left;">What I have had, however, is the unwavering support of the homeless community. Motivational cues like "Good job! Take your time..." & the more wheedling "Don't you go and lose <i>too </i>much back <i>there. </i>Pleeease don't" have given me that extra boost of enthusiasm to get me over the hills and back to the apartment after a good, healthy jog.</div><div style="text-align: left;"><br /></div><div style="text-align: left;">Other than giving out the time to a questioning woman on the street this morning, and the dull thud of my sneakers on the pavement, my runs haven't made much of an impression on the community in return (I did see a gallon-size Ziploc full of spaghetti on the sidewalk this morning though, which made me feel good that someone is providing for my cheerleaders. ultimate street randomness - just one more reason I'm in love with this city). I suppose I'll have to think of a creative way to give back on my next morning run...</div></div></div>lzhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/17002082241359025266noreply@blogger.com1tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3605557930528300891.post-21900847304634236202010-01-25T10:12:00.001-08:002010-01-25T10:15:17.211-08:00"To be or not to be. On three separate occasions I have had interesting experiences with men... I had a guy pick up my friend and I's tab, the bar(ista)tender tell me "it's on the house," and most recently a friend and I were approached and asked if we were professional dancers (please note, we were sitting, not dancing) because he thought we would be perfect for his "videos."Sar Hathawayhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/16131329094496608273noreply@blogger.com2tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3605557930528300891.post-75989708856507953032010-01-06T09:34:00.000-08:002010-01-06T09:37:00.157-08:00<span class="Apple-style-span" style="font-family: Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif; font-size: 10px; white-space: pre; "><object width="425" height="344"><param name="movie" value="http://www.youtube.com/v/nkA-L3mK7q8&hl=en_US&fs=1&color1=0x3a3a3a&color2=0x999999"></param><param name="allowFullScreen" value="true"></param><param name="allowscriptaccess" value="always"></param><embed src="http://www.youtube.com/v/nkA-L3mK7q8&hl=en_US&fs=1&color1=0x3a3a3a&color2=0x999999" type="application/x-shockwave-flash" allowscriptaccess="always" allowfullscreen="true" width="425" height="344"></embed></object></span>lzhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/17002082241359025266noreply@blogger.com1tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3605557930528300891.post-75948901823007260022009-12-28T10:28:00.001-08:002009-12-28T10:32:00.238-08:00woot!<a onblur="try {parent.deselectBloggerImageGracefully();} catch(e) {}" href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhtnpphWTOAHQdGtIvH8y_5tmw4crrzspbagZM_O1PS8ZGS8uGjnkbEv9kwz0m-WKmYbOVmz7SL1kHSL4rHzXi-oYd5uf3c1we0ajIamrlIRLfVc4EOk4XQHTLS_v-fhw_2blwl5ILOyKg/s1600-h/tumblr_kv6ysiT5w01qzg0ajo1_500.jpg"><img style="display:block; margin:0px auto 10px; text-align:center;cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;width: 400px; height: 285px;" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhtnpphWTOAHQdGtIvH8y_5tmw4crrzspbagZM_O1PS8ZGS8uGjnkbEv9kwz0m-WKmYbOVmz7SL1kHSL4rHzXi-oYd5uf3c1we0ajIamrlIRLfVc4EOk4XQHTLS_v-fhw_2blwl5ILOyKg/s400/tumblr_kv6ysiT5w01qzg0ajo1_500.jpg" border="0" alt="" id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5420355972399356658" /></a><div><br /></div><div><span class="Apple-style-span" style="font-size: small;">reblogged from </span><a href="http://pwnage.tumblr.com/"><span class="Apple-style-span" style="font-size: small;">pwnage, tumblr</span></a></div>lzhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/17002082241359025266noreply@blogger.com1tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3605557930528300891.post-91057491346004526282009-12-25T22:59:00.000-08:002009-12-25T23:02:38.679-08:00simply beautiful photography.<span><a href="http://soobinsunwoo.com/"><span class="Apple-style-span" style="font-size: large;">http://soobinsunwoo.com</span></a></span>lzhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/17002082241359025266noreply@blogger.com1tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3605557930528300891.post-4245279138499429242009-12-17T06:27:00.000-08:002009-12-17T06:48:39.280-08:00Bear Stroganoff<span class="Apple-style-span" style="font-size: 12px; "><h1 style="color: black; font-weight: normal; margin-top: 0px; margin-right: 0px; margin-bottom: 10px; margin-left: 0px; padding-top: 0px; padding-right: 0px; padding-bottom: 0px; padding-left: 0px; "><nyt_headline version="1.0" type=" "><span class="Apple-style-span" style="font-size: small;">Ok, normally I find myself spending way too much time reading The New York Times and they seem to always appeal to whatever is on my mind.
