Extract From Anne M. Elzey's "Favorite Inspirational Pieces"

TO LIVE IS TO RISK DYING

To love is to risk not being loved in return
To commit to another is to risk rejection
To begin a journey is to risk getting lost
To play the game is to risk being the loser
To express feelings is to risk exposing your true self
To weep is to risk appearing despondent
To laugh is to risk appearing irreverent
To hope is to risk despair
To state an opinion is to risk ridicule
To promote change is to risk remorse
To dare being different is to risk acceptance
To question truth is to risk not finding an answer

Those who are afraid to risk
Do nothing, have nothing, are nothing
They are chained by their fear,
They are slaves
They have forfeited their freedom
To live - and to die.
